The Atomic Backland 89 SL touring ski is light and efficient on the ascent and reliable and stable with plenty of floats on the descent. The new ski construction is the result of a scientific life cycle assessment and reduces CO₂ emissions by 30% by using more poplar wood, less fiberglass and resin, and reduced-waste sidewalls. HRZN 3D - the next generation of the original HRZN tech - features a uniquely beveled three-dimensional shovel that increases surface area for better flotation in powder and better handling in changing conditions. The All-Terrain profile uses a new ratio of natural wood to fiberglass to create a ski shape that improves ascent and optimizes downhill performance on harder snow surfaces. A carbon backbone adds stiffness along the entire length of the ski, while the poplar/caruba wood core keeps the ski light and maneuverable.
